Sound Terrarium: Decoherence

Sound Terrarium is a brand new live showcase format to highlight the production and performance of a diverse garden of talents within EML within a small and intimate space. Performers for this showcase will be given complete artistic freedom and direction on their interpretation of the event’s theme for their performances. However, at the same time, they will be challenged to perform for an audience up close with more focus on production, and less reliance on miscellaneous props. As the saying goes, “Limitation breeds creativity”. Hence, Sound Terrarium will be a unique experience for performers to overcome the physical boundaries of a small venue, while still captivating audiences similarly to past EML showcases.

Growing up, everyone has dreams, impressions and ideals. Elements of mind that made our whole world, a blissful dream of endless potential. As we come of age, we become aware and begin to observe the shadows our minds always glanced over before both in the immediate and past. What will this observation change of our world, what interpretation of what came before will we accept or live with? What will the loss of coherence of the dream towards the determined common mean for us as individuals?

The world unobserved remains sunken in possibility, yet imperfect impressions weave a web of uncertainty for both futures and pasts. Eternally etched in the center in a perpetual present of certainty, the lone observer watches in a trance as the dream falls into decoherence.
